Baby Hippo in Prague Zoo!

In the Prague Zoo a baby hippo was born! His father Slavek was also born in captivity in the same zoo. Slavek, who is already 22, has had a number of kids and is renown for his gentleness towards his ladies and children. Maruska, the mother, is a first-timer, and because of her a little nervous state, she was separated from the happy father. She and the baby, which is male, are feeling quite ok.
The great news is that this year a couple of Rothschild´s giraffes were also born. The Prague Zoo is a major conservation institution, because it manages to breed such endangered species so successfully (these are the 52 and 53-rd giraffes born there).
Among the new animals are Caucasian ibexes, a pair of Komodo dragons, African shoebills and lemurs. If you come to Prague, don't miss this wodnerful zoo. Check out entrance fees, other news, photos and pictures at: http://www.zoopraha.cz
