Underground tragedy in Spain

37 people are reported dead in a metro-crash in the Spanish city of Valencia.
Another 14 people are seriously injured including a pregnant woman. The accident happened on 03.07 at 1pm GMT.

The authorities consider 3 possible reasons for the tragedy.

One - a tunnel ceiling collapsed. Second - problems with the wheels, third - the train was speeding way over limit.

Eyewitness say nearly all of the victims were in the train. The first one to report for the accident was a terrified passenger who used his mobile.

There are no links to terrorism so far.

Emergency equips evacuated 150 people from underground.
Some people link the accident to the near visit of the Pope.

There were 2 minor accidents i the metro in the past years. By far the biggest tragedy in the history of underground was in March 2004 when Islamic bombers killed 191.
