Third arrested over double murder

A third man has been arrested in connection the shooting of a man and a woman in their home in Upper Norwood, south London, earlier this month.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man on Friday afternoon in the St James's Road area of Croydon.

The man is being interviewed in a south London police station.

It follows two other arrests over the killings of Jordan Lee Jackson, 20, and his girlfriend Leyla Djemal-Northcott, 21, on 7 March.

Two men, wearing either ski masks or balaclavas, knocked on the door of the house in Menlo Gardens, Upper Norwood, south-east London.

They shot the couple and left Mr Jackson's twin brother seriously hurt. He was put under armed guard in hospital.

Another woman was admitted to hospital suffering from shock. Both have now been released.

On 12 March two men, one 19 and one 21, were arrested and bailed to appear before a court on 25 April pending further enquiries.

Police say they are still appealing for witnesses.
