Wow! That was the longest winter in my life.
And it seems not for me only.
Poland is well known for the worst roads in the world. Simply, our engineers are unable to build proper roads due to great difference of temperatures throughout the year.
In general the temperature goes down to minus 30 every winter. It goes up to +50 Celsius degrees in summer sun.
No need to say that such climate kills the roads.
Winter 2005/06 was extremely tough. Most of Warsaw's streets look like roads in rural parts of some forgotten country. Do not be surprised if you see holes 30 centimeters deep one next to another. Tragedy!
The city authorities are trying to repair but it takes time. I bet they won't manage before next winter.
So, if you are planning to come to Warsaw this spring, better rent a car or use taxis.
The cheapest taxi corporation in Warsaw is Bayer taxi. They charge 1,30 PLN (approx. 0.30 EUR) per kilometer. You can reach them at +48 9667
