Cathedral of Barcelona

The earliest record of a basilica at that place date back to 10-th century Ad. Al-Mansur demolished it in 925.
Remnants of this oldest building can be seen in the City History Museum. In 11-th century it was rebuilt. After that Roman and Gothic elements were added.
The present-day Cathedral was started in 1298 by King Jaume II "The Just". It's building continued to as late as the middle of the 19-th century.
So this is a real eclectic cathedral, which reflects the historical changes in a most remarkable way.
